Discover Namibia, gain your first experiences or plan a possible move to live here in a relaxed and safe environment – then you’ve come to the right place.
Namibia, an impressive country in southern Africa, is characterised by its breathtaking landscapes and fascinating wildlife. With an area of around 825,615 square kilometres, Namibia is more than twice the size of Germany, but is home to only around 2.5 million inhabitants. The official language is English, but Afrikaans, German and numerous indigenous languages are also spoken.
The quality of life in Namibia varies greatly between the urban and rural regions, with the capital Windhoek offering a higher standard of living as the economic and cultural centre of the country. Namibia is known for its political stability, friendly people and conservation efforts, making it a unique and attractive destination.
About me

My name is Vincence. I am 27 years old and come from the German-speaking community of Belgium. While I’m studying pharmacy and working, I also like to take time to discover the world.
For several years, I travelled Europe – from west to east and from north to south – and was inspired by the diverse impressions. Later, I travelled to the south of Africa, which I explored with great curiosity.
Even on a comparatively short trip to Namibia, I fell in love with the unique beauty of this fascinating country. Another visit confirmed to me that I would like to spend part of the year there in the long term and possibly even move the centre of my life to this region.
Thanks to a good friend and numerous local connections in a wide range of industries, I was able to realise my plan quickly. Today, I proudly call this unique country my second home.

Typical specialities
Namibia’s national dishes combine African traditions with colonial influences, characterised by Germany and the Netherlands. Popular dishes such as biltong, potjiekos and kapana offer unique culinary experiences.
The typical national dish in Namibia is “Potjiekos”. This traditional one-pot dish is prepared in a cast-iron three-legged pot, the so-called “potjie”, over an open fire. It usually contains meat, often game or beef, and a variety of vegetables as well as potatoes and sometimes rice. The ingredients are slowly stewed, creating an intense flavour.

Celebrate together
The preparation of potjiekos is often a social event where friends and family come together. The dish reflects Namibia’s diverse cultural influences and is a symbol of the country’s communal and natural way of life.
